Authentic community occurs when the real you meets real needs for the right reason in the right way.

v. 9 “Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them…”

“…Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.”

v. 10 “Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.”

Meeting real needs is never convenient.

Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.

Our service to God in relationship to one another is to flow out of the passion we have in our own personal intimacy with Jesus.

How do you respond when you are treated like a servant?
How do you respond when you don’t get the “thank you”?
How do you respond when you feel taken for granted and like no one notices what you’re doing?
How do you respond when your sacrifice and generosity are completely ignored?

v. 12-13 “Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.”

Everything you are, everything you own, and everything you will ever possess is a gift from God intended to be stewarded for God!
