Choose from the following questions to build your relationship with God and each other. The goal is to interact with God through the Bible and shared experiences, not to finish all the questions.
Insight: Abram (who God renamed Abraham) was 75 years old when he received the promise that God would make him into a great nation. But Abraham waited 25 years until he was 100 before he had the child, Isaac, through whom this promise would continue.

Insight: Abram (who God renamed Abraham) was 75 years old when he received the promise that God would make him into a great nation. But Abraham waited 25 years until he was 100 before he had the child, Isaac, through whom this promise would continue.
1. What assumptions might Abram have made when he received the promise from God in verses 2 and 3?
2. How would you have responded if you received that promise?
3. Based on Genesis 12:3, how has God blessed all people through Abraham? How has God blessed you personally through this promise to Abraham?
Abram still had no children when he was 85, so his wife Sarai devised a plan to provide Abram with a child. Ask someone to read Genesis 16:1-5.
4. What do you think caused Sarai to come up with this plan?
5. What are the advantages and disadvantages of Sarai’s plan?
6.How would you have responded if you were Abram when Sarai presented her plan? Or if you were Sarai and Abram agreed to your plan?
7. What’s a promise you believe God has given to you? How do you feel about that?
8. How has God worked in your life to show that He is faithful?
The Big Takeaway
Spend a few minutes in silence. Trust that God is near and desires to meet with you. Ask God what He wants you to know or do from this week’s study. Write down the thoughts God brings to your mind. Share this with the group and pray for each other.

Scripture Memory
One way to keep Jesus at the center of your life is to keep the words of Scripture at the center of your heart. Remember this verse to remember how God promised He would bless everyone through Jesus, who was born in the line of Abraham.
I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. Genesis 12:2 (NLT)
