Christmas Playlist - Mary's song (Luke 1:26-56)
Christmas is how God shows up in unexpected places and ways. Tonight we encounter Mary’s story and how God begins the introduction of His grace moving upon the world at Christmas. Mary was an unknown, known by the Creator of all and invited into the greatest story ever told. Mary moves from anxiousness to acceptance to adoration. Her story invites us to do the same as we encounter the unexpected ways of God.

...a reminder to us: The Silence of God. The unexpected ways of God… are just a part of the reality of how God is always at work within history - within our lives…which brings us back to Christmas and some of the characters - the unexpected people who encountered the unexpected from God as He stepped into history to bring about an unexpected beautiful reality!

Often when we encounter God - his ways - his calling - it will stir up fear and anxiousness…it sure did for Mary. Think of all the implications as a young lady and her scenario.
“The Christmas story reminds us that God moves in and among those whom society most often leaves behind, that the thread of redemption woven throughout Scripture winds its way through a lot of small towns and seemingly little lives.” -Daniel Darling
God does not just work through or just speak to the influential, the wealthy or the gifted. He shows up not only in unexpected ways and in unexpected places, but to unexpected people.
No one knew Mary's name - yet, God knew her name.
And friend: God knows your name.

Mary bursts into song because not only has God interrupted her life, but God plans to interrupt darkness, injustice, oppression. God plans to redeem all the broken shards of life that are scattered across this dark world. This God whose favor rests upon her, this God whose love empowers her, this God who chose to use her…
This God is going to turn the entire planet upside down and shake it to his glory.

God interrupted Mary’s very life and her physical body.
God interrupted evil through Mary’s song.
God interrupted the very world though Jesus.
What about us? What about you and I? How is God interrupting our lives?

Let your life progression find rhythm with Mary — moving from anxiousness, to acceptance to adoration (over and over) for How God chooses you and uses you to do what only He can do!
Live your life in a way — that you find God’s favor.
Admit your fears and anxiousness.
Say YES to God. Trust him to lead you and your life forward in His best.
