Welcome to a brand new series where we will discover that the Name of God is much more than a name.

Do you know the reason why you were given the name you have? What led you to give your child their name?

We know that names have meanings. Call out all the Names of God you may have heard of or are familiar with.

How have you been instructed throughout your life to approach the Name of God? How has this developed or changed as you have gotten to know Him?

After hearing the message and reflecting on the verse above how do you see taking God's name in vain being something more than cursing?

What do you think it means to do something "in His Name" or "for His Name's sake"?
How can you see that impacting your daily life?

Imagine yourself in the scene above. What thoughts or feelings might you have?

Jesus taught us how to honor and find help in His Name through prayers.
Read Matthew 6:9-13 together.

There are ways we can live in close communion with God but also continue to demonstrate honor and reverence for Him by adapting the following thoughts.

Aware- Where do you need to become more aware in how you reference or refer to God? By name or attitude towards Him?

Awe- Where do you need to reflect more on the character of God and Who He is to reestablish your wonder or awe of Him?

Adjust: How will your speech, attitude, or worship change in light of understanding the magnitude and authority of His Name?

What other scriptures do you know that indicate the greatness and glory of God?

What does God's name do in the above verse or verses you may have thought about?

God's Divine Name is even related to the breaths we take.
Take a second to breathe in and out while reflecting on this thought.
Share with your group what the Holy Spirit brings to your mind as you practice this.

Close out your time together praying and thanking God for Who He is and His desire to surround us, even in every breath.
