Through this four-part series, we’ll explore how to build a solid financial foundation that not only provides security for your family but also contributes to a lasting impact for the Kingdom of God.
Message Description:
Are you ready to rewrite your financial story? Lean in for Part 3 of Legacy: Building Your Financial Future, where we’ll explore Biblical Principles of Investing and the power of honoring God with your resources.
✨ Highlights:
-Discover the difference between the Cycle of Scarcity and the Cycle of Surplus.
-Learn how to plant seeds for a lasting harvest that honors God and blesses your family.
-Be inspired by the story of the widow’s mite and the eternal legacy of faithful giving.
🙌 Let’s dream bigger! Imagine a life of financial freedom, greater generosity, and eternal impact for God’s Kingdom.

📖 “Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty…” – Proverbs 3:9-10

Come expectant—this is more than finances; it’s about your faith, freedom, and future!
HOW TO MANAGE YOUR MONEY BIBLICALLY

CYCLE OF SCARCITY
1. My money
2. Don’t have enough
3. Hold onto it (Not generous)
4. God is pleased, and doesn't bless.

CYCLE OF SURPLUS
1. Steward of God's money
2. More than Enough (hands are open)
3. Faithful to Invest it / Generous
4. God is pleased and Blesses
Biblical Principles of Investing

1. A Harvest always begins with HONORING GOD.
The Greatest Investment you can make is HONORING GOD!
Honor the Lord FIRST; EVERYTHING ELSE SECOND
The church isn’t built on the wealthy who give out of abundance. It's BUILT ON everyday people who are irrationally generous and give out of their discomfort and give DEEP WORSHIP!

2. Understand what is at stake…

Sean, you won’t believe what happened this past year! I have….
Long Range Vision | 5 Years
I see a church that is so on mission that tens of thousands of people in our city and around the world say, “that is where I was found and where my life began; I was loved and fell in love with Jesus.”
Mid Range Vision | 2-4 Years
-That 100% of our church of whom are seeking after God are in a disciple-making relationship by the end of 2026.
-Adds so much value Monday through Sat. they can’t help but come on Sunday
-Raises one million in capital for our permanent church facility and to move into a 15-20,000sf space off the highway close to intersection of 49 & 58.
-Residency program were we are equipping and sending 3 church planters per year in Kansas City.
-That minister deeply into the restoration needs of our city with over 200 people in restoration relationships through Care Groups.
Next 12 Months:
-50 people Baptized
-Equip and release 20 disciple-makers who can grow 100 new disciples
-Ramp up Funding our FIRST Permanent Home.
3. There's No such Thing as an Accidental Harvest

AT THE END OF THE DAY IT TAKES FAITH.
We sow seeds now so we can reap a harvest tomorrow!
TALK IT OVER

Opening Reflection
1. What comes to mind when you hear the word legacy? How does it inspire or challenge you?

Honoring God with What We Have
Read Proverbs 3:9-10 and Malachi 3:10
1. Why do you think God asks us to honor Him with our possessions and first fruits?

2. The widow in Luke 21:1-4 gave out of her poverty, not her abundance. Why do you think Jesus praised her offering? How does this story challenge how you view generosity?

Understanding What’s at Stake
Read the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30)
1. What happens when we manage our money from a scarcity mindset versus a surplus mindset?

2. What might we be missing out on if we fail to invest or manage what God has given us wisely?

There’s No Such Thing as an Accidental Harvest
Read Ecclesiastes 11:1
1. What seeds are you planting today that will reap a spiritual or financial harvest in the future?

2. What mindset shift do you need to make to become a better steward of God’s resources?

3. Who can you seek wisdom from about honoring God and managing your resources well?

Dreaming of a Legacy
Personal Reflection Exercise:
Imagine you’re looking back a year from now. What would you want to say about how you honored God with your finances? Write a short vision statement about your personal financial legacy.

Group Visioning Discussion:
1. How could our church community look different in one year if we all embraced the principles of stewardship and generosity?

2. What excites you about the vision of building a lasting legacy for God’s kingdom through our church?

Application and Prayer
1. What is one specific step you will take this week to honor God with your resources?

Pray as a group for faith to trust God in the area of finances and for wisdom to plant seeds that will bring a harvest for His kingdom.
