Reflection and Discussion
Choose from the following questions to build your relationship with God and each other. The goal is to interact with God through the Bible and shared experiences, not to finish all the questions.

Insight: This passage tells the story of how God created the heavens and the earth including everything on the earth. Watch for the role of Jesus in creation and in our re-creation.
1. If you could ask God one question about the creation of the world, what would it be?
2. How did God create the world? What did He do to cause everything to exist?
3. What was unique about how God created the man?
4. Why do you think God created people? What purpose does He want people to serve?
Ask someone to read John 1:1-4, 1 Corinthians 8:6, and Colossians 1:15-17.
5. What role does Jesus play in creation?
6. If Jesus is the source of life, how does that affect you today?
Ask someone to read 2 Corinthians 5:17 and Ephesians 2:10.
7. How does Jesus give people new life?
8. What’s the story of how Jesus has given you new life?
9. How does Jesus continue to breathe life into you personally? (See Matthew 4:4)
The Big Takeaway
Spend a few minutes in silence. Trust that God is near and desires to meet with you. Ask God what He wants you to know or do from this week’s study. Write down the thoughts God brings to your mind. Share this with the group and pray for each other.
Scripture Memory
One way to keep Jesus at the center of your life is to keep the words of Scripture at the center of your heart. Repeat this verse daily to help it become part of your thoughts.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 (NLT)
