Ruth and Boaz: A Far-reaching Love Story
The Book of Ruth
Pastor Shawn Bowen
Introduction
1. Naomi and Ruth experience great loss in Moab. (Ruth 1)
2. They seek a new life in Bethlehem. (Ruth 2)
3. Naomi hatches a plan for Ruth’s future. (Ruth 3)
4. Boaz steps up as a kinsman-redeemer. (Ruth 4)
Application Thoughts:
The book of Ruth is ultimately about God…
- God’s sovereignty
- God’s provision
- God’s ability to accomplish His will and His purpose through ordinary but faithful individuals
God saves only undeserving people; God uses only undeserving people.
God can save you and God will use you.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing
The 2024 Salvation Army Bell Ringing Campaign begins the Friday after Thanksgiving and runs through Christmas Eve. This year we will just be ringing at the Golden King Soopers. This is a wonderful way to “ring in” the holiday season and support our local community. Ring the bell with family members, friends, your (friendly) dog, youth group or sports team. Play Christmas music and wear your Santa hat. Make it fun! All donations stay in Golden to benefit those in need of financial assistance for rent, utilities, and medical expenses. Two-hour shifts are available every day from 8:00am - 6:00pm. Contact Jennifer Wilson at jjwilson1to6@msn.com with any questions.

Stephen Ministry
Are you compassionate and empathetic? Do you have a heart for hurting people? If so, we'd love to have you join our Stephen Ministry team here at Hillside!
As a Stephen Minister, you will have the privilege and opportunity to provide Christ-centered, one-to-one, emotional and spiritual care to people experiencing life difficulties. And the extensive Stephen Ministry training will prepare you to do so with confidence.
A new training cohort for Stephen Ministers will begin in January, but space will be limited. Please contact Shawn Bowen, Kristi Bowen, or Robin Mathias if you are interested.
