Video: Why is the dead sea called the dead sea?

· The dead sea receives but it doesn’t give and as a result it is not able to sustain life!

Acts 20:35
35 And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" NLT

I have had such a great response to the teachings of the past couple of months.

That’s not due to myself as much as it is to people that are catching a glimpse into God’s goodness and plan through the ages.

We’ve learned that our Father (Abba, nourisher, protector, sustainer) character is opposite of every difficulty that we may face, and God desires to manifest His Kingdom in and through us as sons and daughter.

We’ve learned that as believers, we do not want to miss the mark when it comes to the finished work of Christ!

· Justification, Righteousness, Redemption, Reconciliation, Glorification, Grace, Peace, Hiers and co-heirs with Christ, No More Condemnation, Gifts and Callings

We’ve learned that we should ask our Father (Abba), not to allow me to be swept away, or don’t allow anything to be proposed against me that would defeat me but rescue me from wrong desires!
Greek perfect tenseis used to describe a completed action which produced results which are still in effect all the way up to the present.

Eph 2:8-10
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. NKJV

Why have I laid all of this out?

· Like the Dead Sea, if I only receive and never give out, I will not be able to sustain the life that Christ has provided to me!

· We are the healthiest when live out the Gospel

Romans 12 is shifting from doctrine to lifestyle

Rom 12:1
12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. NKJ

Beseech: to urge, exhort encourage

· I would have commanded people considering the sacrifice of Christ, but the scripture uses the word Urge, because the attitude by which we present our self is crucial!

By: in view, the channel of an act

Presenting ourselves to God

Present: to stand near or before, to be present.

· Think about the Honor of being present, and instrument ready for the use of the Father

Rom 6:13-14
13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. NLT

· In view of the mercies of God, it only reasonable to offer ourselves to God!

The Message

Rom 10:1-17
10 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Righteousness: conformity to the law

1. Have ears to hears when a person is trying to establish their righteousness (Work Righteouness)

“My dad use to tell me, when I get things straight then I will start going to church”

“When I’m ready to stop all of this, then I will start going to church”

“I’m a good person, I don’t…………………….”

2. Be ready to help them see that if they could do it on their own, why would they need Christ!

5 For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, "The man who does those things shall live by them."

6 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7 or, "'Who will descend into the abyss?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).
8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

The Assignment

14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:

"How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!"

16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?" 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. NKJV

Conclusion: Many people are better at politics than they are sharing the good news. Our society may have more luxuries than they ever had, but they are further away from God than they ever been.

They do not know that there is peace that passes all understanding, and God has only good things to give us!

How are you being used as an instrument of God!
