Today's Message:

GO Part 1
- How did they do that?! -
- Acts 2:41 - About 3,000 people were added to their number
- Acts 2:47 - the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved
- Acts 4:4 - the number of MEN was about 5,000
- Acts 6:1 - the number was multiplying
- Acts 9:31 - the CHURCHES were multiplying
- 28 verses in Acts talk about the number of the church growing
"The church today has tied a "relationship with Jesus" to just a gathering that happens on a Sunday morning."
o 13 people entered the temple. 2 paid the tax. 11 did not.
o People under the age of 20 did not need to pay the tax.
o Therefore, 11 of the 13 were under the age of 20.
o Which means that they were teenagers
o JESUS WAS A YOUTH PASTOR!
Acts 3:11-26 Paraphrased
"Why are you surprised by what God can do? Jesus said who He was, and you and your religious leaders killed him. But God raised Him from the dead. And this guy (the lame man) had faith in the name of Jesus and he was fully healed."
"As the church, we need to spend time WITH Jesus so we can be used BY Jesus."

Talk it over:
Take the message to the next level and talk about it practically in your life!
Contemplate these questions on your own, connect with a life group, or talk about them as a family!

- What did you think of the message?
- Was there anything you disagreed with?
- What stood out or resonated with you?
New-Talk:
- Just for fun, what do you think some of the strategies were that the disciples used to tell people about Jesus? (Host a fish fry, Water-walking contest, etc.)
- How does viewing the disciples as young and untrained impact you today?
- Why do you think the focus of the church has shifted from more of a day-to-day relationship to "a one-hour gathering"?
Verse-Talk:
Read Acts 4:1-13

- If you were in that situation, do you think you would have had the boldness to do what Peter and John did? Why or why not?
- What would that type of boldness look like in todays world?
New-Talk:
- What are some reasons you give for not bringing up Jesus in your day to day life? (Not enough knowledge, unable to answer questions, etc.)
- How does viewing the disciples as young and untrained impact you today?
- How would you describe your personal relationship with Jesus?
- How do you currently spend time with Jesus?
Group-Talk:
- Take some time to discuss specific ways that you can bring a relationship with Jesus into your everyday life.
- Spend some time praying for one another to be bold and to abide in Christ.
- If you have someone in mind that you want to share Jesus with, take some time to pray for them by name.
