2. Read Genesis 15:1-4; 16:1-6; 17:15-21; 18:1-15. How did Sarah's heart struggle to wait on God's slow work? What do we have in common with Sarah?
3. How does our culture disciple us to view and approach waiting? How has the culture's discipleship shaped you personally?
4. Describe a time when your responses revealed that your soul doubted God's awareness of the difficulties you experienced. Read Hab 2:4-5 and Hebrews 4:13. How does knowing that God is fully aware of everything bring comfort during trials? How does God's full awareness make you uncomfortable?
5. Hab 2:4 says that the righteous will live by faith. Because sin remains in our hearts, we all struggle to live by faith. Which tempts your soul the most: to live by sight, to live by logic and reason, to live by tradition or history, or to live by feelings? Why is that a temptation for you?
