Lie #1 - If i get more money, I will be safer.

Truth: There is no safety out side of God.

(Proverbs 18:11 NLT) The rich think of their wealth as a strong defense; they imagine it to be a high wall of safety.

(Proverbs 11:4 MSG) A thick bankroll is no help when life falls apart, but a principled life can stand up to the worst.

(Hebrews 13:5-6 NLT) Don't love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, "I will never fail you. I will never abandon you." So we can say with confidence, "The LORD is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?"

Lie #2 - The more stuff I get, the more people care about me.

Truth: They only care about your stuff.

(Ecclesiastes 5:10 NLT) Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness!

Lie #3 - My stuff is My stuff.

Truth: It all belongs to God, He is gracious to give us some.

(1 Chronicles 29:11-12 NLT) Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O LORD, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things. Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.

Tithing

(Leviticus 27:30 NLT) One-tenth of the produce . . . belongs to the LORD and must be set apart to him as holy.

(Malachi 3:6-9 NIV) "I the LORD do not change. . . Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. . . . "Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. "But you ask, 'How are we robbing you?' "In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse--your whole nation--because you are robbing me.

(Malachi 3:10 NIV) Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

God gives you more so that you can do more.
