Locations & Times
Christ Community - Brookside Campus
400 W 67th St, Kansas City, MO 64113, USA
Sunday 7:00 AM
Conversation Starters
1. Read Romans 15:1-13.
2. What does it look like for us to become a church body that “bears the weaknesses of those without strength”? What role can you play in doing this?
3. How has “Christ welcomed us” (vs 7)? What would it look like to welcome one another in a similar way? Think about the hardest person in our church for you to ‘welcome’. What would it look like to welcome them like Christ welcomes you?
4. Considering this passage in light of our passage from last week (14:1-23), what do you think it means to be a church that glorifies God with “one mind and one voice”?

PRAYER FOR ELECTION
Father in Heaven, you are our Ruler and our Refuge,
In this time of uncertainty and division,
We come to you with open hearts,
Seeking your wisdom and your peace.
As the Psalmist declares in Psalm 2,
The nations rage and the peoples plot,
But you, O Lord, sit enthroned on high,
Laughing at their futile attempts to control the world.
In this contentious election season,
When the powers of this world seem intent on conflict,
Remind us that our true allegiance lies not with any earthly ruler,
But with the King of kings and Lord of lords.
We lift our eyes to the mountains,
You alone are where our help comes from,
The maker of heaven and earth,
Who never slumbers nor sleeps.
Strengthen us, Lord, with the power of your Spirit,
That we might stand firm in the face of division,
And be servants of your reconciling love,
As Paul prays in his letter to the Ephesians.
Open our eyes to the vision of the New Jerusalem,
As described in Revelation 21
A holy city where you, King Jesus, dwell with your people,
Where tears are wiped away and death is no more.
In this pivotal moment, grant us the wisdom to cast our votes
Not in service of any fleeting earthly power,
But in obedience to your sovereign will,
That your name might be honored and your will be done.
We ask these things in the name of King Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior,
And by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
