We’ve got to be comfortable with paradoxes.

A paradox is when you have two ideas that appear to contradict each other, but actually are both true and held in tension at the same time.

“Everyone must submit to the governing authorities. For all authority comes from God and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.”

“Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”

“Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God.”
