Bipartisan (Normally) - Cooperation of tow political parties that usually oppose each other’s policies.

Partisan - Strong committed member of a political party
We live in a CULTURE OF INDOCTRINATION OF HATE!
THE REAL STRUGGLE ISN’T AGAINST TRUMP OR HARRIS, BUT AGAINST THE POWERS OF HELL!
PETER MUST HAVE BEEN ON CLOUD 9
PETER HAD PRESUMED GOD’s WILL:

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF PETER HAD HIS WAY?
IT MIGHT LINE UP WITH YOUR IDEA OF SCRIPTURE, and doesn’t mean it’s GOD’S WILL!
3 Things:
1. Deny Your Will
2. Embrace Suffering Everyday
3. Follow Me… NOT HUMAN CONCERNS
What good is it to HAVE IT YOUR WAY?
I AM UNWILLING, BASED ON SCRIPTURE TO DIE ON CAPITAL HILL!

DON’T PRESUME YOU KNOW THE WILL OF GOD.
TALK IT OVER

Opening Reflection – Recognizing Division:
1. How do you see the current culture of division and hate playing out in your own circles (friends, family, or online)?
2. Have you ever lost or strained a relationship over political differences? What was that experience like for you?

Scripture Study – Ephesians 5:15-17 & 6:12:
1. Ephesians 5:15-17 talks about living wisely and understanding God's will. How can political conversations become an opportunity to live out your faith?
2. Read Ephesians 6:12. How does recognizing that our true battle is spiritual, not political, change the way you engage with opposing views?

Jesus, Peter, and Presuming God's Will – Mark 8:27-33:
1. In Mark 8:32, Peter rebuked Jesus because he couldn’t accept that suffering was part of God's plan. When have you struggled to trust God’s plan because it didn’t align with your desires or expectations?
2. How does Jesus' response to Peter in Mark 8:33 challenge us when we cling too tightly to our own political ideas or personal opinions?
3. What do you think it looks like to deny your own will, embrace suffering, and follow Jesus in today’s polarized world?

Heart Check – Is Your Concern God's Will or Human Concern?
1. In what ways do you see yourself prioritizing human concerns (such as comfort, opinions, or personal preferences) over God’s will?
2. When you post, discuss, or act on political issues, how can you discern if you are doing God's will or acting out of personal bias?

Practical Application – Living Differently:
1. What are some practical ways to respond with love and grace when you encounter hateful or divisive political conversations?
2. How can you practice self-denial and reflect God’s heart when discussing politics this election season?

Closing Challenge & Prayer:
1. What is one step you can take this week to be a a witness in your relationships or online interactions?
2. Spend time in prayer, asking God to help you align your heart with His will, to deny your own desires, and to reflect Christ’s love in a divided world.
