Read Psalm 146 NLT
In this passage the Psalmist is teaching us to put our hope in God and not powerful people.
The Psalmist warns us to not put our hope in powerful people in verse 3. He even goes so far as to say there is no hope for you there. Why do people tend to put their hope in those who seem powerful?
What are some examples of powerful people that we see people putting their hope in?
What happens when we put our hope in these people and why?
The Psalmist then says when those powerful people die, their plans die with them. Is this true in your opinion? Why or why not?
The rest of this Psalm is devoted to showing us why we should put our hope in God alone. What is your favorite reason listed in this Psalm?
