GOING DEEPER IN THE WORD TOGETHER
Read Matthew 6:25-34 NLT
In this passage Jesus teaches us not to worry. What is so debilitating about worrying?
Jesus asks in verse 26, “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?” What is he trying to teach them there?
How many times have you worried about something that never happened?
I think Jesus tells us the difference in worry and concern in verse 32 when he says “These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers.” What happens when a single thought “dominates” our thoughts?
Why did Jesus say it dominates the thoughts of “unbelievers?”
Do you think of worry as a sin? Why or why not?
How do we stop ourselves from worrying? (Verse 33)
When we seek first the kingdom of God what kinds of things will our thoughts be focused on?
