WHAT HAPPENS TO INFANTS WHEN THEY DIE?

THE INNOCENT IN DEATH

1/ Some children die inside of the womb.


2/ Some children die outside of the womb.


3/ Some people remain children in their mind.



THEOLOGICAL POSITIONS

1/ Some suggest God judges based on their unactualized future lives.

This concludes all infants are sent to heaven, all are sent to hell, or being divided.


2/ Some suggest God judges based on their family.

In most instances in Scripture, salvation is vastly an individual decision.


3/ Some suggest God judges based on a “condition of accountability.”

Children are loved by God.
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Ps 127:3

Children are sinners from conception.
Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone… Romans 5:18

Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Psalm 51:5

Children do not have the capacity to understand sin and salvation.
It’s important to understand that damnation isn’t based off of ignorance or capacity.

People are condemned based off rejecting the revelation of God and evil deeds. Romans 1

Children sin, but there’s no ability to understand sin and salvation. Thus, there is mercy.

Children are saved by mercy ad grace.
The salvation of children is a sheer act of mercy from a benevolent God.

“The destiny of infants who die is determined irrespective of their choice by an unconditional decree of God…(but by) no act of their own. And their salvation is (brought) by an unconditional application of the grace of Christ to their souls.” B.B. Warfield

6/ Angels and demons are too numerous to count.


7/ Angels and demons are powerful, but not all powerful.


THE TASKS OF HOLY ANGELS

1/ Angels are messengers.


2/ Angels are God’s servants.


3/ Angels are worshipers of God.


4/ Angels protect us from harm.


5/ Angels minister to believers.


6/ Angels escort believers into heaven.



THE TASKS OF UNHOLY ANGELS

1/ Demons inflict suffering.


2/ Demons lure believers away from God.


3/ Demons instigate fear.


4/ Demons are an enemy to believers.
