Question: How do I get rid of the deep rooted and repetitive sin in my life?
Central Truth: You won’t confront what you won’t confess. AND/OR You can’t get rid of what you won’t uproot.
Our consistency of life, shows us our priorities in life.
All of us are unique in that the priorities we have are based off the things we like.
We’re all tempted to sin, but we’re not all tempted in the same way.
5 Truths we need to understand about deep rooted sin:
1. We naturally sin.
· The sin you wrestle with is not unique to only you.
2. We have a consistent/repetitive sin.
· You can only get entangled in a sin that’s close to you!
3. Our sin is evil.
· Sins root source is evil.
· The sin you’ve made peace with is the sin you’ve waged war against God with.
4. We are in a war against our sin.
· No one wants to go to war, but there is a point in every soldier when they realize that going to war and fighting for freedom is better than being enslaved to who/what they could be conquered by.
5. Jesus is our only hope against our sin.
· We aren’t free from the sin we haven’t confessed.
If we don’t come to understand the sin that is the root of evil in our lives, then we will never be able to come to the point that we’re able to actually give it to Jesus and ultimately be free from it’s power.
