1. Read Romans 12:3-8
2. What about the “body” makes it an appropriate metaphor for the church? What’s the connection between Christ’s body and our bodies as living sacrifices (12:1-2)?
3. Spend some time considering a few gifts that God has given to you. What are they? How do you (or how can you start) using them to bless the body of Christ?
4. Name some ways you have been blessed by the gifts of others in this community group (or the church), specifically by gifts that you don’t possess.

– Humility, not hubris
Do not imagine that if you meet a really humble man he will be what most people call ‘humble’ nowadays: he will not be a sort of greasy, smarmy person, who is always telling you that, of course, he is nobody. Probably all you will think about him is that he seemed a cheerful, intelligent chap who took a real interest in what you said to him. If you do dislike him it will be because you feel a little envious of anyone who seems to enjoy life so easily. He will not be thinking about humility: he will not be thinking about himself at all. ~ Lewis, Mere Christianity
– Unity, not uniformity
– Differentiation, not isolation
