Main Point: The nonstop hustle and pace of life will inevitably throw some punches your way and derail even the best and well-intentioned plans. The good, no great news is though, that we serve a God that doesn’t DENY reality, but DEFIES reality. And in His ability to do exceedingly more than we can ask or think, He invites us to partake in His rest.

YOU ARE GETTING STRONGER WHILE YOU REST.
To truly rest and be restfully rooted we must…

REST THROUGH SURRENDER

Even if Jesus doesn’t meet the expectations we have for our lives, we still have to trust that His plans are better than ours.

REST THROUGH TRUST

Trusting God brings us into His rest.

Noah Webster defines trust as a “resting of the mind on the integrity, character, or other sound principle of another person. It’s God’s presence, not His PRESENTS that bring security, rest, and restoration.

REST THROUGH OBEDIENCE

The sooner we let go of what we are doing or want to do, the quicker we can embrace what God is doing and wants to do in our life

REST THROUGH PRAYER

We have to slow down to arrive at the place Jesus already prepared for us.

R- Rejoice in the Lord- Enjoying God’s presence, delighting in spending time with Him.

E- Express emotional vulnerability- Jesus didn’t say come to me optimistic, cheerful, and happy, he tells us to come when we feel overwhelmed, overworked, and over it.

S- Sit in Stillness- Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God”

T- Thank Him for His Goodness- Thanking God for all He’s done will open our eyes to all that He’s currently doing.
