Insight: Everyone needs to be loved, and to receive love. But not everyone feels loved, or receives love, in the same way. One way to show your love to someone is by finding what makes them feel loved and expressing love to them in that way. The relationship displayed in the book of Song of Songs in the Bible describes several different expressions of love between a man and a woman.

To get you thinking: What makes you feel loved?

1. Which verse in this passage is most significant to you and why?

2. List the various expressions of love you find in this passage.

3. Read the following verses and describe the expression of love shown in each verse.
a. Matthew 7:11
b. Mark 10:13-16
c. John 3:22
d. John 13:14-15
e. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

4. Which expression of love would you most like to receive? Describe a time you received this expression of love and how you responded.

5. Which expression of love do you tend to give more naturally?

6. Which expression of love would be most challenging for you to share with someone else?

7. Read 1 John 3:16. In what ways did Jesus give up His life for you?

8. Ask God to show you how He wants you to be an instrument of His love to someone today.
