Introduction

Romans 16:17-27

1. A warning not to believe in the lies of the enemy.

A. Paul’s desire to visit the church in Rome. Romans 15:22-24

B. A letter written by the power of God, the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:15-16

C. Paul’s focus on the gospel until the second coming of Jesus. Romans 15:20-21

2. An encouragement to stay faithful to God and know that God has promised to crush Satan.

A. A promise also given in the beginning. Genesis 3:14-15

B. A powerful God of peace and grace. Hebrews 13:20-21

4. A hymn to be sung in worship.

A. To be focused on the gospel. Romans 1:16

B. The mystery that Jews and Gentiles are all in the church by faith together.

C. God’s words can lead to obedience and to give God glory.

Application thoughts - Jude 24-25

1. Keep God’s word in context and ask for godly counsel.

2. Make decisions in relationships, finances, and conversations with a desire to please Him. Hebrews 11:6

3. Live by faith in the only great God and live for His glory.

We will have a barbecue right after the service on Sunday, September 1. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, dessert, and beverages will be provide.

Women's Bible Study - September 7

The autumn kickoff brunch for Hillside Women of Hope Bible study will be held on Saturday, September 7th. More information TBA on the brunch. On the following Saturday, September 14th, at 9:00 a.m., Women of Hope will resume regular biweekly Bible studies, picking up at chapter 8 in the Gospel of Luke. If you are interested in attending, please contact Andrea Flack or Jane Banzhaf.

Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministers offer high-quality, one-to-one, Christ-centered, emotional and spiritual care for people in the congregations going through difficult times. If you would like to like more information about getting connected with a Stephen Minister, or if you'd like to be a Stephen Minister, please email the Stephen Ministry team (stephenministry@hillsidecommunity.org).

Care Team Ministry
The goal of the Care Team is to physically support the congregation of Hillside Community Church. Care is provided on an intermittent, as-needed basis to fill in the gaps in care when family and friends are unable to meet the individual's needs. We have multiple volunteers who are able to provide transportation to and from appointments, necessary errands such as grocery shopping and deliveries, and hospital visits. Potential care recipients, and anyone desiring to be a transportation volunteer, can initiate contact by emailing care@hillsidecommunity.org.

Prayer Ministry
The Prayer Team hosts a monthly prayer night at 7:00pm on the third Monday of the month (next: September 16). Everyone is welcome! Please email the prayer team to submit prayer requests (prayer@hillsidecommunity.org). You can also receive prayer in person from 9:30-10:00am Sunday mornings in the cry room adjacent to the church foyer.

Meals Ministry
The Meals Ministry is a practical way to meet the needs of others in the congregation who are welcoming a new baby or experiencing challenging circumstances. If you would like more information about providing meals, or if you yourself are in need of meals, please contact Jenny Ward.

MOPS/MomCo
The Golden MOPS group will be taking a break from their regular meetings for the summer. They will resume meeting in the fall under a new name: MomCo (Mom Community). For more information, email goldenmomco@gmail.com.

Women's Ministry
The autumn kickoff brunch for Hillside Women of Hope Bible study will be held on Saturday, September 7th. More information TBA on the brunch. The Thursday morning and Saturday morning Men's Bible studies are taking a break for the summer months and will resume in the fall.

The Young Adults group will resume in the fall with a Kickoff Barbecue right after the service on September 8. The group will be meeting weekly on Sunday mornings at 8:45am beginning on September 15. Contact Daniel Ayers (danielayers2019@gmail.com) for more information.

Youth Group
Youth Group meets in the back of the coffee shop during the service except on the first Sunday of the month. There will be a fall kickoff barbecue at 4:30pm on Sunday, September 8. Contact Val Semich for more information.
