Home Group/Study Questions
These questions are provided for your further study and application of today’s sermon. Thoughtfully writing out the answers to these questions will help to drive home the truths we are learning.
1. Was there any passage of scripture or statement in the message today that was particularly meaningful or applicable to you?
2. John 9:3b. “That the works of God might be displayed in him.” Read 1 Corinthians 10:31, Matthew 6:33, and Colossians 3:23 (and just about everywhere else in scripture!). When Jesus saves us we are no longer our own, and we live for His glory. What does that mean, and how is that lived out?
3. John 9:4 - We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.” Read Matthew 9:37-38 and 1 Peter 3:15. How seriously are you taking the task/privilege of evangelism? How can you grow in obedience in this aspect of your life in Christ?
4. John 9:16 - Some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath.” We tend to one of two extremes when it comes to God working around us. On one hand the gullible are taken in by every charlatan, and on the other hand the cynical refuse to acknowledge anything outside of their experience. Read Philippians 1:9-10. How do you learn to practice discernment? How can you be sure you are seeing God at work in any given situation?
5. What truths about who Jesus is and how He works do you see in John 9? How do the different people in the text respond to the blind man’s healing? What truths do you see about the condition of people’s hearts?

Giving Online
Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances is part of our worship. (2 Corinthians 9:7; Proverbs 3:9; Malachi 3:10)
We thank those who have helped us fulfill our mission and vision, and we ask you to pray that all of the giving to West End Baptist Church would be used to glorify God in carrying out His will as Scripture instructs and the Holy Spirit leads.
