Our enemy never grows weary in tempting us, so we must be armed with God’s word and always be alert. The devil tempts Jesus in three distinct ways: first, by tempting His flesh; second, by tempting His ego; and third, by tempting His faith.
The enemy wants to tempt our faith because it’s the biggest threat to his control over us. When we walk by faith, satan no longer has power over us.
The enemy wants to steal our freedom by entrapping us into “what if” scenarios. Our faith often has us in a waiting pattern and that’s where the enemy wants us to question who God is, who we are, and what God has said, so that we’ll compromise what we believe.
The enemy wants to tempt our faith because he wants to see how serious we are. We are never truly tested by satan until we finally say yes to God. When we’ve demonstrated we’re going to start trusting God, satan attacks because that’s when we become a threat to the darkness.
The enemy hates our faith because he’s jealous of its saving power. Satan’s goal is to strip us of our faith so that he can strip us of our inheritance and salvation.
