What Is Worship?

Worship involves at least four key things:
1. Discipline – it is a command and an intentional practice
2. Worth – deeming something or someone with value, dignity and renown
3. Reverence – showing honor and respect
4. Adoration – expressing love and affection

The reality of humanity is that everybody worships.

The Heart Direction of Our Worship

Any worship that is outside of the One True God is by definition idolatry.

If God truly isn’t first, then something else will be.

Idols are conditions we allow to take root in our hearts.

Instead of bowing down to Jesus to be our Savior, not just in the eternal sense but in the everydayness of life, we bow down before most anything else.

Christian worship is vital because it keeps our hearts and minds fixed on Jesus Christ.

Our praise, worship, and glorification of Him completes our enjoyment in Him.
