Divine Results of Delighting & Meditating

Planted/Transplanted—The psalmist states that we will be like a tree planted…
· In Hebrew, this verb that is translated planted actually means “to transplant,” not merely “plant.”
· To transplant includes not only what I just mentioned, it also includes taking a plant out of one environment and placing it into another which could be more conducive to production, growth, and stability.

Streams of Water—In a literal sense, in this psalm, streams of water would refer to artificial irrigation channels which would have provided a continuous source of water for the tree.

Strength & Stability (Roots)— One of the reasons why a tree is strong and stable is because of sprawling anchors called roots
· In many plants the primary root is known as a taproot.

Beauty (Leaves) - Leaves are important, for one of their principal functions is the manufacturing of sugars by the process of photosynthesis.
· Water is necessary to prevent overheating or the wilting of the leaves.
· Without a good source of water, the leaves of a tree can easily wither and die.

Purpose (Fruit) - Just as there are many different kinds of fruit, so there are different kinds of spiritual gifts given to the followers of Jesus. And while these gifts often vary in physical appearance, their basic structure is the same. They are all given by God the Holy Spirit.

The Blessed Will Prosper - Whatever he does prospers.

Literally, this sentence could be translated, “in all that he may do he continually or repeatedly prospers.”
· The root of the word ’prosper’ means to accomplish satisfactorily what is intended; to succeed.
· Its purpose is to bear fruit.

Will Not be Included in the Assembly of the Righteous -The idea is to be regarded as being a part of the assembly; to be counted as one of them.

If you are in Christ Jesus, rejoice and give thanks, for you are highly favored with God.

You are blessed.

Grow.

Mature.

Bear fruit for the glory of God.

· Alexis Kasinger (a classmate of Olivia Price) who is recovery from serious injuries following a car accident.
· The family and friends of Alicia Haist (26-year-old friend of Allie Wilson) who passed away on 6/22 from injuries she sustained in a motorcycle accident in April.
· Patty Bales is recovering from foot surgery.
· Sandy (Tracy Quist’s mom) has had cancer for 13 years and it has spread to her bones, lungs and brain. She is recovering from surgery to remove a brain tumor and is getting radiation treatments. Please pray for Tracy’s mom and dad to put all hope and trust in God and to resist worry, that the treatment will help and her side effects will be minimal.
· Donna Jinkins (neighbor of Jean Robinson) continues to decline and the only hope for her is if she can have a liver transplant and there is concern that she'd be strong enough for surgery if one even becomes available. Please keep her and her family in prayer.
· Lennon McKamey (son of Kyle & Sarah) needs surgery on his shoulder. Please pray that preparing for surgery goes smoothly.
· Jean Pietrzak (Sandi Starland's sister) is doing much better. She still has a neck brace and is using a walker while continuing physical therapy.
· Joyce Bocock continues to do well. Prayers for continued improvement and relief from pain are appreciated.
