God’s Word is powerful. God’s Word has the power to change our lives. Words have power and God has given us His Word. There is nothing more important to us in our walk with God than to see the power of God’s Word.
God’s Word is a weapon against forces of darkness. We are told to put on the armor of God and to, “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:17).
God’s Word has great value. He sent out His word and healed them; He rescued them from the grave” (Psalm 107:20).
God’s Word is alive and active. For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).
God’s Word must be received in humility. Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls” (James 1:21).

Over and over in Psalm 119 the Psalmist said, “This is what I did with the Word” … “I heard it – I received it – I loved it, and I obeyed it.”
God’s Word must be obeyed for you to be blessed. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do” (James 1:22-25).
God’s Word must never be compromised.I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll” (Revelation 22:18-19)
