We have a tremendous opportunity to proclaim the good news of Jesus by giving generously. Giving increases our devotion to Jesus and helps us align out lives with God’s priorities. It provides an outlet for compassion and allows us to proclaim his good news and trust his provision. Click here to give online today.
https://thechapelfh.churchcenteronline.com/giving1. Every person you’ve ever met is crafted in the image of God. Genesis 1:27 is clear, “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” This creation was intentional and meticulous; every individual is fearfully and wonderfully made in the womb (Psalm 139:13). Therefore, treat each person you encounter as God’s exquisite handiwork. As God’s chosen ones, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience (Colossians 3:12).
2. Remain steadfast in your faith. Loving God’s creation doesn’t equate to sponsoring the world’s sins. Jesus was resolute in His teachings, including His definition of marriage as between one man and one woman (Matthew 19:5). As followers of Christ, our mission is clear (Mark 12:30-31): Love God and love others, while also being “more than conquerors” (Romans 8:37). We must put on the full armor of God to stand against anything contrary to His Word (Ephesians 6:13) and persevere in doing good (Galatians 6:9), regardless of circumstances.
3. Homosexuality is a complex issue, but it is defined as sin. It creates separation from a holy God and runs deeper than outward actions. Culture celebrates with a lot of pride these days. Proud abortions, gender identity pride, gay pride, but not gossip pride, hate your momma pride, get high pride. Why pride? Pride is a sin originator. Do your way and not God’s way = pride. Make your own rules and morality = pride. Did God really say… = pride.
4. Transformation is not within our power. While we can introduce people to Jesus and pray earnestly, we cannot change hearts. Our call is faith in Christ, attempted obedience to Christ; die to self kind of stuff. His Word is powerful and effective (Isaiah 55:11), and we are called to always be ready to share the hope we have in Christ (1 Peter 3:15). Let your conversations overflow with grace and wisdom (Colossians 4:6).
5. Proclaiming Christ’s truth, even in love, goes against cultural norms. Expect opposition, especially in a culture that normalizes and promotes all forms of sexual sin through media. According to the 2020 GLAAD report, LGBTQ characters make up a significant portion of television characters, reflecting societal trends. Jesus engaged with sinners without condoning their sin; He conversed with the woman at the well (John 4) and dined with tax collectors (Luke 19), always affirming God’s unwavering love.
