One of the judges most of us can identify with is Gideon.
The Situation- Israel in detention.

The solution- a farmer was called.
A young farmer with doubts
13 And Gideon said to him, “Please, my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all his wonderful deeds that our fathers recounted to us, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has forsaken us and given us into the hand of Midian.”

He was slow to be convinced but acted on his conviction. (Judges 6:36-40)
The good parts
Gideon defeated the Midianites with just 300 soldiers (vs 135,000) because of God. Chapters 7-8
He served as the 5th judge of Israel/ made it to the hall of faith in Hebrews 11

He refused to be made king of Israel along with his seed. Instead, he became a placeholder.
The Lessons
God uses the willing not the able. To serve God, we need humility, not ability.
God makes strong those who are weak when they submit to him.
God appreciates our faith, even the weak kind that He eventually builds up.
When God uses us for His kingdom, it does not mean we will not fall. Be careful.
