Community Nights Hosted by Life Groups

Join us for a relaxed and enjoyable time at the park, hosted by our Life Groups. Bring a ball, frisbee, or let the kids enjoy the playground. We’ll gather twice a month throughout the summer. Everyone is welcome, whether you’re part of a Life Group or not. This will be a wonderful opportunity to connect and build community before our new Life Groups start in the fall. An RSVP to the host would be helpful but not necessary.

July 24, 6:00pm at Fairmount park, hosted by the Semichs. Bring a picnic dinner for your family.

August 7, 6:00pm at the Fetykos home. Food provided.

Family Promise - July 8

On July 8, Hillside will be providing another meal for families experiencing homelessness and being sheltered through Family Promise. If you are interested in providing a portion of the dinner meal (main dish, salad, side, dessert), please contact Jennifer Wilson at jjwilson1to6@msn.com. She will provide how many people are staying at the shelter and menu details. Food can be given to Jennifer at church on the 7th, dropped off at Jennifer's house sometime Monday, or delivered directly to the site Monday evening at 6:00.

Kids Camp - July 15-19

July 15-19 is SCUBA camp week! Registration for kids is now closed. Volunteers are still needed. Sign up on the Faith Lutheran website to volunteer: http://faithgolden.org/pages/kids-camp-2024--13.

Golden Kids Clothing Swap - July 20

The Kids Clothing Swap will be held at Hillside on on Saturday, July 20, from 9:00-11:00am. You can drop off clothing and books at Faith Lutheran during kids camp (July 15-19) or bring it to the back door at Hillside on Friday, July 19, from 5:00-7:00pm. Salvation Army Back-to-School Shopping Event - August 1

The Golden Salvation Army Back-to-School Shopping Spree is just around the corner on Thursday, August 1st! This special event pairs volunteer chaperones with Golden elementary and middle school children to shop for school clothes and shoes with a $100 gift card at the Colorado Mills Target. Children in need are identified through Golden area schools and also receive a backpack filled with school supplies. You can participate in one of two ways. First, you can assist with shopping as a Chaperone. Shifts start at either 8:00 am or 9:00 am and last about an hour. You will be provided with detailed instructions including the needs and sizes of your child. Second, you can sponsor a child with a $100 donation (or any amount you would like to give). The QR code below will take you to the Calvary Church Golden website which manages Salvation Army contributions. You can also write a check to the Golden SAEU, with "Shopping Spree" in the memo, and mail it directly to Bethany Thomas at Calvary Church, 1320 Arapahoe St., Golden 80401. This is wonderful way to help get kids off to a good start for the school year, and it’s a lot of fun! You might consider inviting a friend to join you in this opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life. To chaperone and/or donate, please contact Jennifer Wilson at jjwilson1to6@msn.com.

Youth Group Summer Plans

Youth will meet during service June 9th-30th in the coffee shop. We will be taking a break for July and resuming again in August.

Summer Youth Meetups:
July 15-19: Volunteer at Kids Camp
July 19: Elitches following Kids Camp (come even if you can't volunteer)
July 26-28: Camping at YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch
Aug 11: Rockies Game and Concert (if there is enough interest)
Aug 25: Paddle Boarding/Picnic following the service

MOPS/MomCo
The Golden MOPS group will be taking a break from their regular meetings for the summer. They will resume meeting in the fall under a new name: MomCo (Mom Community). Summer playdates are scheduled for July 30, and August 20. And there is a family campout scheduled for August 3-4. For more information, email goldenmomco@gmail.com.

Care Team Ministry
The goal of the Care Team is to physically support the congregation of Hillside Community Church. Care is provided on an intermittent, as-needed basis to fill in the gaps in care when family and friends are unable to meet the individual's needs. We have multiple volunteers who are able to provide transportation to and from appointments, necessary errands such as grocery shopping and deliveries, and hospital visits. Potential care recipients, and anyone desiring to be a transportation volunteer, can initiate contact by emailing care@hillsidecommunity.org.

Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministers offer high-quality, one-to-one, Christ-centered, emotional and spiritual care for people in the congregations going through difficult times. If you would like to like more information about getting connected with a Stephen Minister, or if you'd like to be a Stephen Minister, please email the Stephen Ministry team (stephenministry@hillsidecommunity.org).

Prayer Ministry
Please email the prayer team to submit prayer requests (prayer@hillsidecommunity.org). You can also receive prayer in person from 9:30-10:00am Sunday mornings in the cry room adjacent to the church foyer.

Meals Ministry
The Meals Ministry is a practical way to meet the needs of others in the congregation who are welcoming a new baby or experiencing challenging circumstances. If you would like more information about providing meals, or if you yourself are in need of meals, please contact Jenny Ward.

Women's Ministry
The Saturday morning Women's Bible study is taking a break for the summer. The group will resume meeting in August.

Men's Ministry
The Thursday morning Men's Bible Study meets every other Thursday at 6:00am (next: Fall). Please contact Elliot Makuh for more information.

Young Adults
The Young Adults group will resume in the fall. Contact Daniel Ayers (danielayers2019@gmail.com) to receive notifications about informal gatherings happening over the summer.

Youth Group
Youth Group meets in the back of the coffee shop during service except on the 1st Sunday of the month to participate in communion. Youth Group also meets on Sunday evenings at the church from 4:00-5:30pm. Contact Val Semich for more information.
