CrossPoint Church Sunday
We are embarking on a journey into prayer where we deal honestly with our fears, doubts, and discomforts with prayer in pursuit of wielding prayer in our lives so that we encounter God, find it life-giving, and see God’s power in real, tangible ways when we pray.

https://cphutch.church/helloToday's Message: Teach Us to Prayer: Who You're Talking To (Our Father in Heaven)
Speaker: Pastor Matt Troyer
Scripture Verses: Matthew 6:5-9; Psalm 46:10
CORRECTIONS TO PRAYER:
Correction #1- Pray to impress your concerns, not others.
Correction #2- Pray to communicate, not to manipulate.
HOW TO PRAY:
We relate to God as the Father who loves us.
We relate to God as the Father who loves us and is King above us.
THE PRACTICE:
This week, practice stillness to know God as Father and King before you pray. Pick a time this week. Practice a pattern for entering your time in prayer.
· Sit up straight or get on your knees
· Close your eyes and open your hands
· Breathe deeply a few times to calm your body
· Have an opening you say, “I want to know you as My Father in heaven.”
· Set a timer on your phone. 2 minutes to start.
· Meditate or talk out loud about what it means for your relationship and your life that God is “Your Father in heaven.”
