Welcome to Eastern Hills Baptist Church
We are so glad that you decided to join us in worship today. Here at Eastern Hills we realize that we are all in different places on our journey with Christ, and that's okay. Whether you are a seeker, looking for answers, or a long-time follower of Christ, you are welcome here.

Today's Points:
1: Not knowing can be scary.
2: The Kingdom of God will be a kingdom of suffering... for A time (and times, and half a time).
3: The Kingdom of God will be a kingdom of victory... for ALL time!
4: Sometimes knowing is even scarier than not knowing.

…we must get used to the idea that in this genre, visions consistently collapse one epoch in time upon another. Some commentators have identified visions as being transtemporal. This means that images or figures can apply to more than one period in history.... This should keep us from following an overly rigid interpretive scheme. Apocalyptic possesses an elasticity of vantage point that we are simply not accustomed to seeing in other genres.

The people of God must learn that the kingdom of God is a kingdom of suffering. The forces of hell will not prevail against it, but they will do all in their limited power to overwhelm the saints. Suffering of one kind or another is integral to being a Christian. That thought may devastate us, but if we learn to accept it, it may also stabilize us.

Questions for further discussion this week:
— When have you ignored something important in the hopes that it went away (like turning up the car radio so you can't hear the bad noise it's making)?
—How do you respond to the statement that the Kingdom of God will be a kingdom of suffering? Why?
—How do you respond to the statement that the Kingdom of God will be a kingdom of victory? Why?
