ABIDE: To "dwell," "remain," "be present," and to "be held and kept." Abiding addresses our posture and place. Where are we in proximity to Christ?

START TALKING
Share an everyday example from your own life when enough just wasn't enough. Maybe it was paying off debt, but then that wasn't enough and you wanted to save. Maybe it was getting that newer car, but then you started wanting the car with more features. Maybe it was something more serious. Share a few examples to get the conversation started.

START THINKING
Read John 15:1-2. How would you describe this illustration of Jesus being the true vine. What does it reveal to us about what God ultimately wants to come out of our lives? (Hint - think back to Point 1 from the sermon today).

Read John 15:3-4. Jesus says to remain in him - to "abide". What does it mean to abide in Jesus? Why is this so important?

Read John 15:5. If you're honest, in what ways do you cut yourself off from Jesus? What is the result of being "separated from the vine."

Read John 15:9-12. How have you experienced the love of God as your fuel? How have you personally received it (based on what that passage says)? What does Jesus command you to do with it after you've received it? Why is this such a critical part of our mission that Jesus calls us to?

Read John 15:13-16. Have you ever viewed Jesus as a friend? Have you ever considered that he calls you his friend? How does that change the way you approach him - or how you "abide" in him? Does it break down a wall?

START DOING
What is God speaking to you from today's message? How can you better abide in Jesus? How will you put that into practice this week?

What do you hope Jesus does through you as a result of truly abiding in him?

Who will you share the love of Jesus with where you live, work & play?

START PRAYING
Take a moment and have a guided prayer time with your Micro Church. Have everyone remember the prayer that Jesus prayed in John 17 that we read this morning. He prayed specifically for you! Thank Jesus for caring for you that much. Thank him for his power and worthiness to abide in! Confess where you don't abide. Ask him to help you not cut yourself off from the vine. Ask him to let his love flow through you to everyone around you!
