Real Life That Lasts

Real Life That Lasts

We've just seen how Paul starts his letter to the Romans by laying Gospel Foundations: our need to be justified (declared "not guilty") by God and how He makes this possible through faith alone. So…now what? In chapters 5-8, Paul shifts his focus to what this gospel produces. He highlights the fruit (benefits) the gospel brings to those who believe it, and how this in turn produces even more fruit (Christ-honoring attitudes and actions) in their lives. Join in as we delight in our justification ("not guilty!"), peace, hope, reconciliation, freedom from sin, and Spirit-filling, among so many other amazing Gospel Fruits!

Beyond Sunday

Growing with Jesus isn’t just for Sundays. Make it an everyday, everywhere, with everyone mission by going “beyond Sunday”!

Engage in these resources on your own and with your Grow Group*, family, or a friend:

Grow
• Consider the biblical meaning of “righteousness” by watching this BibleProject video: npberean.org/beyond7
• Copy Romans 6:22 on a card. Read it every morning and evening until you know this precious promise by heart.

Share
• Listen to Build My Life (npberean.org/beyond8). Ask God for ways you can demonstrate he is your firm foundation with those he leads you to this week.
• Write out Romans 6:23 in your own words. How will you share this truth through your words or actions this week?

Connect
• True or false: “There are no free agents. We’re either a slave to sin, impurity, and lawlessness or to obedience, righteousness, and God.“ Discuss.
• Based on choices you’re making, what master do you seem to be serving the most? Where is that going to lead? Share with a friend what’s working, what needs to change, and how “the free gift of God” can motivate that change in you.

* Connecting in community with other believers is crucial for spiritual growth. Explore group options at npberean.org/gg

Next Week's Sermon

How can we really be free from masters that lead to death, and belong wholeheartedly to Jesus instead? Next week, we'll look at how Paul uses the illustration of marriage to help us continue exploring this question.
