(Hebrews 12:1 NLT) Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
(Psalm 34:19 NLT) The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.
Jonah messed up but made it through the storm.
(Jonah 1:1-4 NLT) The LORD gave this message to Jonah son of Amittai: "Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh. Announce my judgment against it because I have seen how wicked its people are." But Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction to get away from the LORD. He went down to the port of Joppa, where he found a ship leaving for Tarshish. He bought a ticket and went on board, hoping to escape from the LORD by sailing to Tarshish. But the LORD hurled a powerful wind over the sea, causing a violent storm that threatened to break the ship apart.
(Jonah 1:9-10 NLT) Jonah answered, "I am a Hebrew, and I worship the LORD, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the land." The sailors were terrified when they heard this, for he had already told them he was running away from the LORD. "Oh, why did you do it?" they groaned.
(Jonah 1:15-17 NLT) Then the sailors picked Jonah up and threw him into the raging sea, and the storm stopped at once! The sailors were awestruck by the LORD's great power, and they offered him a sacrifice and vowed to serve him. Now the LORD had arranged for a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was inside the fish for three days and three nights.
(Jonah 2:4 NLT) Then I said, 'O LORD, you have driven me from your presence. Yet I will look once more toward your holy Temple.'
Have you ever needed a 2nd chance?

(Hosea 13:9 NKJV) "O Israel, you are destroyed, But your help is from Me.

• Even when we mess-up, Jesus is our help!
• Disobedience & rebellion put Jonah in the storm.

• Repentance got him out of the storm.

Are all storms caused by me?
(Mark 4:35-36 NLT) As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, "Let's cross to the other side of the lake." So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed).
(Mark 4:37-38 NLT) But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, "Teacher, don't you care that we're going to drown?"

• Life's circumstances don't define God's love.

• Always see the hope in His Word.
(Mark 4:39 NLT) When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Silence! Be still!" Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.

• Jesus spoke to the storm.
(Acts 27:1 NLT) When the time came, we set sail for Italy. Paul and several other prisoners were placed in the custody of a Roman officer named Julius, a captain of the Imperial Regiment.

• Faith got Paul thru the storm that wasn't his fault.
Fatigue without the Word drains hope from my life.
