GROWTH - the development of the necessary character and skill to stand in the maturity of God’s calling.
“The gifts which God has bestowed upon them, and the calling - the invitation, with which he has favored them he will never revoke. In reference to this point there is no change of mind in him; and therefore the possibility and certainty of their restoration to their original privileges, of being the people of God, of enjoying every spiritual blessing with the fullness of the Gentiles, may be both reasonably and safely inferred.” Adam Clarke’s Commentary on the Bible, 1825
“Repentance, when applied to God, signifies simply change of purpose relative to some declarations made subject to certain conditions.” Adam Clarke’s Commentary on the Bible, 1825
1 - Recognize you have only attained to part of what God has laid hold of you to accomplish.
God lays hold of us by calling; a progressive employment in His service; for a specific purpose
2 - Recognize God’s math must be embraced
God’s math keeps things connected and centered on the “attainment” He designed
Don’t let what you think you know get in the way of what God is revealing to you.
L - Lead yourself well.
* People don’t follow titles - they follow leaders.
E - Equip yourself and others in excellence.
* Equipping is not telling people what to do, but teaching them Who to follow.
A - Attitude creates limits of “victimhood.”
* The devil does not really care what you say you believe, but rather about your willingness to leave the character of God to prove it.
D - Death to self will grow you.
* Death to self is impossible as long as you keep reviving your old man.
E - Evaluated experiences grow you.
* Experiences themselves have limited value, evaluated experiences are valuable.
R - Righteous relationships with His Word and spiritual mentors grow you.
* Righteousness is modeled by example and accountable by relationship.
S - Spiritual discerning grows you.
* Spiritual discerning is simply trusting your spirit man over your natural man.
H - High things pulled down grows you.
* High things are how we think exalting (self-trust) above the knowledge of God.
I - Intensity in focus grows you.
* When our intensity is focused on anything other than Jesus we will struggle to grow.
P - Power working in you, grows you.
* The relationship between His power working in us and our recognition of His design for us is important.
