Who Is Rich?

1. Are you wealthy?

2. We probably should all listen!

Don’t Be Haughty

Haughty – Literally to be High Minded

To have an elevated view of yourself

Why Is Haughtiness Dangerous?

1. It causes us to forget our dependence on God.

Deuteronomy 8:17-18

2. It causes us to have a wrong view of others.

3. It causes us to be cold and indifferent to those in need.

Place Your Faith In God, Not Riches

How do we place hope in riches?

1. When we see wealth as a key to happiness and status

2. When we see wealth as key to security.

Wealth Is A Bad Source Of Security

1. Riches are Temporary Matthew 6:19-21

2. Riches are uncertain

3. It can’t secure what is really needed.

We need a right view of God

1. He provides us with ultimate Status.

2. He is the source of True Security.
Matthew 6:33-34

With A Right View Of God Comes A Right View Of Wealth

1. Wealth is a Gift to be Stewarded

2. Wealth is a blessing to be shared.

3. We can use wealth to take hold of true life.

Be Rich In Good Works

They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.
1 Timothy 6:18-19

1. Means to be Generous towards others

2. Requires you to hold your blessing with an open hand

3. Allows you to take hold of True life.

What Do We Need To Do?

1. Thank God for His blessings

2. Trust in Him for your Security and Status.

3. Use your blessings to do Good!
