Text: Romans 8:12-17
Question 1 - What is Significant About This Relationship (Romans 8:14-16)
a. We have a new identity and assurance as children of God.
b. We are now the offspring of God
Question 2 - How are "sons" of God to live? (Romans 8:12-13)
a. We are obligated to yield to the Spirit
b. We need to command our natural urges
Question 3 - What does "sonship" mean? (Romans 8:14-17)
a. God's sons are led by His Spirit.
b. Circumstances give us the opportunity to yield to Him.
c. God's sons have a special relationship with the Father.
d. God's sons are witnessed by the Spirit.
e. God's sons enjoy their inheritance

2. Verse 13 discusses “dying” and “living.” What kind of death and life is Paul talking about?
3. Think about your family growing up. What was it like? Describe your relationship with your parents. How does this affect your thoughts about being part of God’s family?
4. Paul uses the words “Abba” and “Father” in verse 15. These are terms of endearment. What other terms of endearment might we use when speaking to God our Father? Should we address God with terms of endearment? Why or why not?
5. List some of the “benefits” of living by the Spirit and being heirs and co-heirs of Christ mentioned in verses 12-17.
6. When you think of being a son or daughter of God, how does this truth change your perspective about your relationship with God?
