The First Section (The Beatitudes): Jesus taught us who would be blessed.
The Second Section (Salt & Light): Jesus taught us who we are and what we are to do.
The Third Section: Jesus teaches us how to be great in His Kingdom.
The Fourth Section (Take Heed): Jesus teaches us what to beware of.

The original language might read something like this: Pay attention that you do not do your acts of righteousness before men, like a spectacle or show in a theater.

Three Acts of Righteousness
1. Giving
2. Praying
3. Fasting

1. Jesus assumes we’re doing these things as Christ followers.

2. These things reveal and challenge what’s in our heart.

3. There is a reward attached to doing these things. (And apparently you can lose that reward!)
