NEW TO REAL LIFE?

Looking to get connected? Have questions?

Today we going break some rules and expectations and decide what type of CHURCH do you want to be?
I’m HERE to HEAR JESUS!

JESUS WAS ATTRACTIONAL!
1st Definition of Church: “A place where Tax Collectors and Sinners (outcast) all gather around to hear from Jesus.”

Church is attractional because Jesus is attractional!

2nd Definition of Church: “A group of Jesus follows that welcome sinners and eat with them.”
THE SHEPHERD IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOST SHEEP.
Religion says that sinners should seek after God; but Jesus says the church should seek after sinners.

It’s not: “What are THEY doing Here?” It’s, “There you ARE!”

3rd Definition of Church
A group of Jesus follows who find LOST people and carry them HOME!
Have you ever lost track of your child?
Angels shouting in Heaven over ONE FOUND SINNER
PIOUS PEOPLE POINT AT PEOPLE…….
FOUND PEOPLE FIND PEOPLE.

HOW FAR ARE YOU WILLING TO GO TO FIND PEOPLE?
FOUND PEOPLE …… FIND PEOPLE!
Talk It Over

1. Personal Reflection: How do you feel about sharing your faith, especially during events like Easter? Do you resonate with the parable of the “Lost Sheep” mentioned in the sermon? Why or why not?

2. Church Culture: Have you ever experienced a church environment where certain individuals or groups were made to feel unwelcome? How did that impact your perception of the church and its mission?

3. Understanding the Passage: Reflect on the parable of the lost sheep from Luke 15. What does this story reveal about God's heart for people, especially those who are considered outcasts and sinners?

4. Attraction to Jesus: What qualities of Jesus do you find most attractive, based on the description in the sermon? How can we embody those qualities in our interactions with others?

5. Welcoming Sinners: Discuss the attitude of the Pharisees towards Jesus welcoming sinners and eating with them. How does this attitude contrast with the mission of the church as described in the message?

6. Identification with Characters: Which character from the parable of the lost sheep do you identify with the most - the lost sheep, the shepherd, or the Pharisees? Why?

7. Finding the Lost: Share about a time when you actively sought out someone who was lost spiritually. What was the outcome of that experience?

8. Party Church vs. Pious Church: Reflect on the distinction made between a "Party Church" and a "Pious Church." Which type of church do you think is more aligned with Jesus' teachings and why?

9. Personal Commitment: How can you personally contribute to creating a church culture that welcomes sinners, crosses lines, and celebrates when the lost are found?

10. Mission of the Church: Based on the message, what is the mission of the church as described? How can we collectively work towards fulfilling that mission, especially during events like Easter?
