North Platte Berean Church
Believe & Receive - Not Achieve
Did you realize that Paul's letter to the Romans is his only NT letter to a church he hadn't planted or at least visited? Paul was eager to keep taking the good news of Jesus where it had never been heard, and Rome could be a great place for launching a gospel ministry into Spain. But in many ways, Paul was an unknown to the church there. So, rather than spend a lot of time addressing their dysfunctions (like he does, say, with the Corinthians), Paul offers an overview of his teaching, beginning with foundational understandings about the gospel and its implications for unity between Jews and Gentiles. (This was one of the great social divides of the time and presented a key challenge for the Roman church.) Join in as we explore how these same gospel foundations have the power to bring hope and unity in our lives still today!

Baptism is a public witness of an internal reality, that the person has passed from death to life by trusting Jesus for salvation. Next Sunday we will baptize Marcie Morrell, Tylan Silos, Jaylen Schledewitz, Ali Neidhardt, Corey Miller, Shawn Morrison, and Samantha Abbott
Note: We’re evaluating whether or not to continue including this new Beyond Sunday section in the bulletin. If you’ve found it useful and would like us to keep it (and/or if you have ideas to make it better), please let us know at npberean.org/yes.
Growing with Jesus isn’t just for Sundays. Make it an everyday, everywhere, with everyone mission by going “beyond Sunday”!
Engage in these resources on your own and with your Grow Group*:
Think it out
• How could you share the joy of being justified with someone who has never encountered Jesus?
• For more on the life of Abraham from Genesis, check out this video: npberean.org/beyond13
Talk it out
• What are some ways we try to achieve righteousness instead of receiving it by faith?
• Why do we often put our faith in something other than God? What is the outcome of misplaced faith?
Live it out
• Romans 4:7-8 is a quote from Psalm 32. Read this psalm aloud, personalizing it to your life.
• Who in your life struggles to have faith? Use truths from this message to encourage them this week.
