I Thirst. | Ps. Josh Hersey (Cross Words)
(John 19:28-29 ESV) After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.” 29 A jar full of sour wine stood there, so they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it to his mouth.
(Psalm 22:15 NIV) My mouth is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death.
(Psalm 69:21 ESV) They gave me poison for food, and for my thirst they gave me sour wine to drink.
(John 6:35 NLT) Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
(John 7:37-38 NLT) On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! 38 Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”
(Psalm 51:17 NLT) The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.
(Proverbs 28:13 ESV) Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
(James 5:16 NKJV) Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of righteous person avails much.

(1 John 1:9 NKJV) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
(Revelation 22:17 NLT) The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let them come and drink the water of life without charge.
