Jesus reveals our purpose: to be salt and light.
Good works won’t get you to Heaven, but they could cause someone who is far from God but close to you to experience Jesus.
Two main aspects of our relationship with Christ:
1. We have a relationship with Him that is eternal (forever).

Grace is not opposed to EFFORT. It's opposed to EARNING.
At salvation, we receive:
• Eternal life
• The gift of righteousness
• Redemption
• The Blood of Jesus (for forgiveness and for active use in our lives)
• The Holy Spirit

Salt’s purpose:

As the salt and light of the earth, we are to preserve.
When is the last time we made someone thirsty for Jesus?
1. Salt is what we say or words we speak.
2. Light is our actions or what people see us do.

light = people seeing us do good works
How can we be the light of the world?
1. Share your faith in Christ.
2. Take light where it’s dark.
3. Shine together as the Church.
4. Live surrendered to the Lord.
