Talk It Over

1. Review the message and first read Judges 6 and 7. What stood out to you the most about the chapter and the message? What was God saying to you? What confirmed your walk with God? What challenged your walk with God

2. Judges 6:34 Gideon says, "then the Spirit of the Lord came on Gideon” and he blows the trumpet to call out an army. At this point, Gideon no longer needed an Angel of the Lord, but was simply moved by God's Spirit. In your experience, what does it take to be a man or woman that is sensitive to the Holy Spirit and to moved by God’s Spirit? Read Judges 6:1-32 and note the promises that God gave to Gideon. Respond to this quote from Pastor Sean, “It’s almost impossible to be a person moved by God’s Spirit, if you aren’t meditating on God's Word!”

3. Judges 7:2 says, "The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me.’” What are examples of our "own strength” that hinder us from giving God the glory? Out of that list, which one do you relate to the most and why? Pastor Sean, “If God’s not promoting you, giving you victories, it could be because you’re falling into the trap of taking all the credit!” How has pride affected your victories in life?How does victory in our lives relate to worshipping God? What are some weaknesses in your life that only God can get the credit when He uses it?

4. In Judges 7:8 by faith, "Gideon sent the rest of the Israelites home but kept the three hundred” Gideon would have looked foolish to first 12,000 troops that first left. He would have faced many voices of negativity, and complaints. Describe a time when you had negative voices speaking over your life? Pastor Sean said, you don't need anyone else except the Lord; that His voice is the only one who matters. How clearly do you hear God voice in your life? How faith filled do you follow His voice?

5. Judges 7:14-15 says, “His friend (An enemy solider) responded, “This can be nothing other than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, the Israelite. God has given the Midianites and the whole camp into his hands.” When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he bowed down and worshiped.” Describe a time in your life when you were overwhelmed with deep reverence and worshipped God? Respond to these statement,
a. The battle for Gideon was done when he was undone.
b. We have to stop worshipping and bowing down to the false presumptions of power that we give others.
c. Your worship is a measurement of your faith in God. It's an expression of the level of your faith.
d. When God speaks, His Spirit moves, He's not asking you to be strong, He is asking you to be faith filled and follow His voice.

6. Spend time in prayer and meet God with your worship. He is waiting for you and will meet you today right on the battlefield.
