Giving Online

Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances is part of our worship. (2 Corinthians 9:7; Proverbs 3:9; Malachi 3:10) We thank those who have helped us fulfill our mission and vision, and we ask you to pray that all of the giving to West End Baptist Church would be used to glorify God in carrying out His will as Scripture instructs and the Holy Spirit leads.

Home Group/Study Questions
These questions are provided for your further study and application of today’s sermon. Thoughtfully writing out the answers to these questions will help to drive home the truths we are learning.

1. Was there any passage of scripture or statement in the message today that was particularly meaningful or applicable to you?

2. Was there any passage of scripture or statement in the message today that was particularly meaningful or applicable to you?

3. I believe that reading the account of Jesus’ birth, if read chronologically (in an accurate sequence as it happened in time) would require us to move between Luke’s Gospel and Matthew’s Gospel. Read the account of Jesus’ birth in Luke 2:1-38, then Matthew 2:1-23, and then back to Luke 2:39-40. Do you agree with the timeline? Why or why not?

4. Read Luke 2:22-38. Why did Luke include this account in his Gospel? What can we learn through the witness and example of Simeon and Anna?
The only recorded words we have of Jesus’ as a child are to Mary and Joseph, saying, “49 And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?” Why is this simple sentence so significant so as to be recorded in Scripture? Why is it essential for us to know and believe that Jesus is the Son of God?

5. One theologian has called 2 Corinthians 5:21 the Gospel in a nutshell. How do you explain the wonder of these truths to a friend?

6. Read Hebrews 4:15 & 16. What does the fact of Jesus’ sinless life mean for you and your relationship with God today?
