Use this space to take your general notes during the message.
It's a new year and we are kicking off 2024 with a brand new series called "Roll with It".
Ice Breaker: What are some of your goals for the next year? How are you planning to stay on task?
As we go into 2024, we need to remember that while we have plans and goals, God also has plans. The big question for us to ask ourselves is whether our plans align with His. Why is this such an important distinction?
We are meant to live in sync with God. Our life functions best when we are living in sync with Him. Read Philippians 1:6-11. How do Paul's words to the first-century believers in Philippi illustrate the connection between God's work in us and our willingness to cooperate?

Philippians 1:6-11

Pastor Jonathan reminded us that just like any other kind of growth, spiritual growth does not just happen. It takes work and cooperation. Specifically, in the case of spiritual growth, it takes cooperation with the Holy Spirit. How do to words of Paul in Philippians 2:12-13 illustrate this for us?

Philippians 2:12-13

So how can we know that we are moving in the direction of Jesus? Pastor Jonathan gave us 3 questions to ask ourselves. How can you make these 3 questions a part of your decision-making in 2024?
- Are you working with or against God?
- Are you closed or open to what God is trying to do in you and through you?
- Are you saying No or Yes to opportunities He is presenting you?
Let's pray to our Heavenly Father. Ask Him to reveal the next steps He wants you to take in 2024. Here are some specific opportunities you can pray about:
- Baptism- to go public with trusting and following Jesus
- Serve- to love as Jesus did
- Groups- to journey with others who journey with Jesus
- Give- because Jesus did
- Invite- because we are never too far from God to come back to Him
