“Standin On Business”

--Introduction--

We are hours away from stepping into another year, a potential new season, potential new dimensions, opportunities, and realms.

I believe that for some of you all this is going to be the best year yet, but I believe it’s contingent on some foundational things.

As my generation would say we need to ensure we are “Standing on Business”

Aka my Southside ATL boys would say in
“2024 I’m Standin on business”

But just like Jesus' parents didn’t understand his statement some of y'all don’t understand the statement.

Standing on business: To take care of your responsibilities, practice what you preach, or show that you mean what you say / you can back up your claims, not messing around, they're “about their grind.” - Urban Dictionary

Now we may not all use that terminology, however we can all agree that if our year looked like this it would be a good year!!

The bible is full of Principles, Promises, Prophecies, Precepts, Patterns, and Prayers.

We want to find principles in bible so we can utilize them.

In order to go forwards you sometimes have to go back.

This is why we are going to go to end this year by looking at the very beginning.

The Lord goes back often…

The Prefix Re = To go back

The Lord, Re-concile, Restores, Renews, he wants us to Repent, Reveal, and Redeem

I believe this is a year of bringing us back, back doesn’t mean backwards, when I say back, I mean back to him!

In the 1st 4 words of this scripture is a principle that is life changing = “In the beginning God” You want to make this a powerful year.

You must, you have to, you need to put God at the beginning!

We must be violently intentional to insert God at the beginning of everything we do.

Beginning of a……

Semester = God
Business Ventures = God
Day= God
New opportunity = God
Season = God
Relationship = God
Marriage = God
Job = God
Childs education = God
Situations = God
New year = God

In the beginning God……CREATED

Create = Bara’ (Hebrew word only ascribed to God)

Bara’ means to shape, fashion by cutting, create, always of divine activity.

God wants to be at the beginning so he can use his juice to create something in your life, within your life, from your life.

How can God create if he is not at the beginning that’s called assisting?

Gods wants to Create not Contribute.

He wants to Bara something in your life He wants to Create, Shape, Fashion something in your life only a divine entity can do!

He can turn all things together for good but he wants to be at the beginning…..
This is why it’s so important to have him at the beginning of your life because if he isn’t at the beginning he can’t create.

Creatives like to be at the beginning of a project not the end.

But my God is at the beginning and knows and knows the end… he is the Alpha & Omega and he ain't a fraternity.

Life = Vessel

Small Rocks = Matters that fill up our life Big

Rocks = Spiritual Substance

In life we all have things that fill our lives up..

School - Relationships - Health
Job - Hobbies / Extra Circ Act - Sleeping
Pets - Social Media - Sports

The goal is to fit the Spiritual Substance into our life with everything else we have going on.

It’s impossible to fit God into our lives. We must rearrange our lives so that God is at the beginning.

Standing on business means making THE ROCK the foundation of our life.

Building our life on Jesus, it reminds me of that song Jesus at the center of it all.

We must be violently intentional to insert God at the beginning of everything we do.

Violence against your flesh to fuel your spirit!

Fasting at the beginning of the year changed my life…

“I must be about My Father’s business?”

His business was about the temple, and it is still his business to ensure that the temple is clean.
