1. Shepherds were in the field.

“I am the good shepherd.” John 10:11
2. An angel appeared.
3. The angel proclaims the "Good News."
“And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”
4. A multitude of the heavenly host praised God.
Revelation 4:8 ”Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come.”
5. The shepherds found Jesus.
Sermon Discussion Questions
1. How do you think the shepherds responded weeks, months, and years after this one night? Do you think they were around when Jesus said years later, "I am the good shepherd," and how did they respond?
2. What part of the good news speaks most to you today?
3. When has been a night that God brightened your life? Has a figurative time been a difficult season, and God has "spoken to you in the night?"
4. Is there one around you who has experienced fear recently, and can you share the good news of Jesus and the comforting words of Scripture with them? (If so, text Pastor Steve and let him know you will be ministering to someone.)
5. What visual can you come up with to describe what 100 million angels in the sky would look like?
6. Was Jesus hard to find?
7. Is God still wanting to be known? How can we know Him?
