<b>River Youth Tailgate and Bonfire</b><br>On Friday, October 12 we will be tailgating starting at 6:00pm, for the Lakota East v. Colerain game held at Lakota East High School, in the parking lot. Students and families can swing by, enjoy some food and fellowship before we head into the game that night and sit together. Anyone, regardless of school can join us! After the game, we will be having a bonfire at Chris and Miranda Baker's house in Monroe. Parents, students and their families can join us for the bonfire as well. If you have any questions, please contact zach@HitTheRiver.com.<br><br><b>RiverBank Kids and Healing Communities Collection Drive</b><br>Join RiverBank Kids in partnering with a ministry from The River who care for those who are in prison at the Dayton Correctional Facility. Help encourage these individuals by providing a few simple items that are needed. Please drop items off at RiverBank Kids check-in by Sunday, October 14. The needed items are: shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, soap/bodywash, lotion, deodorant and feminine hygiene products (full size products are preferred). If your family has been impacted by someone being in prison, please reach out to our Healing Communities team for support by emailing Jody Vash 4vash@roadrunner.com or Jillane Holland jillanecox@gmail.com.<br><br><b>River 101</b><br>Interested in learning more about The River Church? Pastor Brad will be teaching our River 101 class on Tuesday, October 17 from 6:15pm-8:30pm. This is a great way to learn what we believe, how we operate, and where we’re heading. If you are interested in membership, the class is a prerequisite. Sign up at https://hittheriver.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/153768.<br><br><b>2nd Annual Barn Bash</b><br>Let’s get together on Thursday, October 18 for dinner over at the Niederman Family Barn for a fun evening of connecting and letting the kids play. It will be a great way to celebrate together all the great things God has done this past year. There are two start times for dinner: 5:30pm or 6:00pm (dinner and dessert provided). If you want some added fun, discount wristbands to the Niederman Farm are available. At the farm your family can enjoy a hay ride, bon fire, corn maze, and all the other fun things the farm has to offer. <br><br>Please RSVP for the dinner online at https://hittheriver.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/163349 so we know how much food to provide. There is no cost for the dinner. A limited number of Niederman Farm discounted wristbands are available online at https://hittheriver.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/163349 for $5 per person ($12 at the gate) so please sign up today. Children under 2 are free.<br><br><b>Food Donations - IHN</b><br>The River church will be supporting the Interfaith Hospitality ministry in Monroe on October 19. Along with hosting dinner on Friday and a hot breakfast on Saturday, our opportunity to serve includes providing lunch supplies like fresh fruit, chips and packaged desserts for the preceding week. The families in the program pack a lunch to take with them to work, school, or the Day Center. Any donations would be greatly appreciated, and should be brought to the church by Sunday, October 14. A sign up sheet will be at the fireplace. We are also looking for more volunteers to help support the Friday evenings, and Saturday mornings that we are serving. Please contact Kaitlyn Hertzler at kaithertzler@gmail.com or 513-616-6317 with any questions, or if you are interested in volunteering.<br><br><b>Serve City</b><br>The River Church is scheduled to serve Saturday October 27, from 9:45am-12:00pm at the food pantry, Serve City. If you are interested in serving, arrive at 9:45am at Serve City and you will be shown how you can help. They are located at 622 East Avenue, Hamilton. For more information contact Ginger Spence at spenceg3@netzero.net.<br><br><b>Pumpkin Glow - RiverBank Kids</b><br>Experience a glow-in-the-dark family worship time, followed by a friendly pumpkin-carving contest and snacks. Bring one pumpkin for your family, your favorite carving tools (we will have a few extra carving supplies on hand if you don’t have any), and don’t forget your unique (non-scary) carving ideas. Vote for your favorite pumpkin designs, and then get your cameras ready for a pumpkin glow finale. Join us here at The River Church on Sunday, October 28 from 6:30pm-8:00pm for a glowing good time!<br><br><b>River Youth Chicago Mission Trip</b><br>In 2019, The River Youth is going on a Mission Trip again but this time to the great city of Chicago. While there we will be partnering with local ministries to show the love of Christ to the local people in the northern Chicago area. We will be staying in Wheaton, IL and serving with safe but engaging ministries. We would love for your students join us! Spots are limited so make sure you get your $50 deposit in by October 28 to secure your spot. If you have any questions, please contact Zach at zach@HitTheRiver.com.<br><br><b>Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Challenge</b><br>It’s that time of year again where we start collecting boxes for Operation Christmas Child. The deadline for submitting boxes is Sunday, November 11. Unfortunately boxes received after November 11 will not be sent to the kids. More information available on the Samaritan’s Purse insert in the bulletin.<br><br><b>SHP - Help Needed</b><br>Sleep in Heavenly Peace makes sure no kids sleeps on the floor in Butler County by building beds for kids who don’t have one. They need help delivering beds through the Fall season. If you can help, please contact Mike Watkins at mike.watkins@shpbeds.org. If you have a truck/van you are willing to use to move the beds, they could really use your help.<br><br>Women’s Book Club<br>Meets Fridays at 10:00am at The River Church. Contact Margaret Layman with any questions at margaret.s.layman@gmail.com or Lucy Rau at lak821@hotmail.com. Kids are welcome.<br><br><b>Can You Help?</b><br>We are looking for someone who would be willing to help us with our audio &amp; video podcasts. The time commitment for this volunteer role would be a minimum of 4 hours on a Sunday. You would need to have audio and video editing software available on your own computer. If you would like to help please contact Todd Porter at todd@HitTheRiver.com.<br><br><b>Angels Among Us</b><br>There are times in life when we can be in a situation where a meal would be a blessing, such as after giving birth or when dealing with a medical situation. Through our Angels Among Us ministry, you can help people within our church by bringing them a meal. To join, send an email to info@HitTheRiver.com letting us know you’d like to be part of this ministry. When a need arises, you will receive an email asking if you can sign up to bring a meal. If you are in a situation where you could be blessed by a meal, please email us at info@HitTheRiver.com.<br><br><b>Prayernet</b><br>You have a direct impact on the lives of others through prayer. By joining the prayernet you will be able to help others who are in need that may or may not have someone in their life to pray for them.<br><br>When you join the prayernet, you will receive emails with requests for prayer. At this time we average two requests per week. All you need to do is pray for that person in your own personal way. “And since we know He hears us when we make our requests, we also know that He will give us what we ask for.” 1 John 5:15.
