When we look at the storyline of God’s relationship with humanity, we see that the twisted-up mess we’ve brought on our lives because of sin cannot be unraveled by even our best efforts. We need power, righteousness, and sacrifice beyond our resources. What we could not do for ourselves, God did through Jesus. And that is why Jesus is the best gift ever.
